Partnerships
Modern News Journal considers collaborations that fit its focus on newsroom processes and help readers understand how news is made. Commercial arrangements do not determine editorial coverage or guarantee an editorial mention.
Suitable collaborations
We consider relevant educational projects, clearly scoped co-produced resources and partner placements that complement the publication's subject. A proposal should state the organisation involved, the intended audience, the proposed material and any commercial relationship. We may decline work that is unrelated, misleading or difficult to distinguish from independent editorial content.
Placement and labelling
Accepted partner placements may appear across the site. They are labelled as paid or partner material, as applicable, and kept distinct from editorial articles. Placement does not imply endorsement, and partners cannot require favourable editorial coverage.
How to propose
Send a concise outline through the Contact page. Include the proposed format, subject, timing and any relevant commercial terms. Each proposal is considered on its own fit; contacting us does not guarantee a placement or collaboration.
A published story has a process
News does not appear fully formed. We look at the decisions and routines behind publication so readers can better understand how a story is made.
