Editorial policy
Modern News Journal aims to explain newsroom practices accurately and independently. We distinguish established information from interpretation, correct material errors and identify paid or partner content clearly.
Accuracy and limits
We check factual statements against appropriate source material before publication and review wording that could give a misleading impression. Where practices differ among newsrooms, we say so rather than imply there is one universal method. We do not claim to have conducted research, interviews or tests unless an article explicitly describes that work.
Independence
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. A partnership does not buy coverage, favourable treatment or influence over an editorial conclusion. We will not present a partner's promotional claim as independent editorial reporting.
Corrections
If you believe something is materially inaccurate, contact us with the article details, the passage in question and the reason it needs review. We assess correction requests, update errors when warranted and make the nature of a substantial correction clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and other partner material are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that is the case, we identify them as AI-generated. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
A published story has a process
News does not appear fully formed. We look at the decisions and routines behind publication so readers can better understand how a story is made.
